As conceived by the authors, in the layout of the building with a height of 235 meters and a total area of 189 thousand sq. m, the traditional approach to organizing office space has been rethought, the area of which here is 78.8 thousand square meters. m. This is achieved through an extraordinary solution: on every ninth tier of the tower there are open gardens, from where you can admire panoramic views of Mexico City. The gardens take up space on three typical floors and combine the adjacent office levels into a “vertical village”, the essence of which is to help employees connect with each other and bring them together into a community. The most flexible office plans also contribute to creating a comfortable working environment for all 4,500 employees of the bank.

Its frame is placed on the facade of the tower, forming a kind of pattern of triangles. It is echoed by a diamond-shaped pattern of perforated aluminum panels that protect the interior from overheating. The facade resembles traditional Mexican window grilles in its appearance. Some rows of "rhombuses" are left empty so that the amount of natural light needed to enter the building, one side of each of the "heavenly gardens" is also open.

Since Mexico City is located in a seismically active zone, great attention was paid during the design to protect the high-rise from earthquakes. The details of the frame are connected by movable, "deformable" nodes: as a result, the skyscraper during tremors will be able to swing one and a half meters in each direction, which will significantly reduce the risk of collapse. In addition, the foundation of the tower is reinforced with piles (140 cm in diameter), which go 50 meters deep, and the thickness of the walls in the ground reaches 100 cm.

Outside the tower are glass meeting rooms, which offer a view of the Chapultepec park located at its foot. In addition, the panoramic views of Mexico City are visible from the transparent elevator cabins.

The main lobby, Sky Lobby, with an adjoining auditorium for 233 people and a dining room for 900 employees, is located above a multi-tiered, partly underground, partly overground parking lot for 2813 cars and 234 bicycles. A helipad with a diameter of 29 m is arranged on the roof of the building.

BBVA Bancomer Headquarters has been awarded the LEED Gold Energy Efficiency Certificate. In addition to the landscaped gardens in the building, various eco-technologies have contributed to this, for example, a rainwater collection and disposal system, passive ventilation and LED lighting.
