Decorative stone wool panels ROCKPANEL helped to solve a non-standard task. The new school consists of a complex of buildings housing classrooms, a library, an open theater and a central space for open classes and informal communication.
Architect Hans Coppen from Architectenbureau Coppen tells about the symbolism of the tree, which has become the leitmotif of the project: “Learning is no longer about telling children facts. Today it is designed to create an environment for sharing ideas that will inspire future generations to build a new world - not the one we (we are sure) know. The tree traditionally acts as a kind of center of attraction, and the new central space of the school appears to be the very tree next to which teachers and students can gather, share thoughts and ideas."
At the same time, wood creates a sense of safety and security. In small wooden houses, lined with tiles with the appropriate pattern - ROCKPANEL Woods, children will be able to relax from strenuous activities. And the glittering ROCKPANEL Brilliant panels that line the new school's façade, in turn, overlap the edges of the windows, creating a sense of security for younger students from 4 to 6 years old.
This is the first building in the Netherlands to be clad in the new ROCKPANEL Brilliant panels. The palette of colors used - from orange, cream to various shades of green, reproduces the natural colors of foliage, bark, moss. ROCKPANEL Brilliant gives the façade a shimmering effect, which further enlivens the building itself when the sun's rays touch it. ROCKPANEL slabs are easy to bend and shape, creating facades of amazing shape and visual effect.
