A short list of teams that made it to the final of the competition for the best building for the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Latvia has been determined. Of the 25 teams that made it to the second round, the jury selected seven. In addition to foreign architects, Latvian bureaus also participate in each of the teams. The winner will be announced at the end of June this year.
In the new building of the museum it is planned to exhibit works of art from Latvia and the countries of the Baltic region since 1960. The building will appear in the new New Hanza City quarter next to the historical center of Riga. The project is estimated at € 30 million and is being implemented by the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation and the ABLV Charitable Foundation with the support of the Latvian Ministry of Culture.
