The competition was hosted by the Serbian construction company DG. The task of the participants was to develop a concept for the street facade of a multifunctional building, which is planned to be built in the historic center of Subotica. For this, it was necessary to take into account the existing architectural environment of the future object. At the same time, the organizers expected to see modern projects that do not copy historical buildings.
In total, 93 works from different countries were presented to the jury. The experts agreed that none of the presented works fully met the assigned task, however, some of the works were performed at a high level and in maximum accordance with the competition task.
We present the works that won prizes. Among them is a project by a Russian architect.
First place
Boyana Kovacs Djurasinovic and Milos Djurassinovic
Studio Platforma
Belgrade
The jury appreciated the composition of the facade, thoughtful proportions, optimal, restrained range of shapes, colors, materials. The architects decided to use only one geometric shape - a rectangle, as well as a combination of two colors and two materials. This laconicism, according to experts, gives the building a modern look.
Second place
Stanislav Subbotin
Moscow
This work stands out from the rest thanks to the use of one material par excellence - glass. A significant part of the facade is transparent, so there is a lot of light in the interiors. The author tried to fit the new object into the context as delicately as possible. Also among the advantages of the project is the possibility of using exclusively local materials.
*** Third place
Petar Peich
Belgrade
The facade is made in the spirit of modern European buildings that can be found in Poland, Denmark, Great Britain, Spain. The solution proposed by the author meets all today's functional, aesthetic and technological requirements and is able to fully satisfy the needs of the users of the future complex.
