In Russia, the production of KNAUF Sapphire gypsum plasterboard began, combining the best properties of moisture-resistant and fire-resistant plasterboard and, due to the high density of the core, which has better sound insulation characteristics, greater impact resistance and the ability to withstand heavy loads when hanging heavy objects. In accordance with the new current GOST 32614-2012, "Sapphire" has an unprecedented coding - "DFH3IR". The first consignment of this sheet has already been produced by the KNAUF manufacturing enterprise in Novomoskovsk (Tula region) and sent to consumers.
Knauf company offers a new product as a universal finishing material for high-quality interior decoration of any premises. Knauf sheet "Sapphire" is pasted over with the highest quality cardboard produced in Germany, painted in the "native" light blue color for Knauf.
KNAUF-list "Sapphire" is a response to customer expectations, in many ways anticipating their needs. As tests have shown, the high density of the Saphir core allows an increase in the airborne noise insulation index in comparison with ordinary gypsum plasterboard by 2 dB - 47 dB. The increased fire resistance of the sheet increases the time required to evacuate people and extinguish a fire by 15 - 30 minutes, and the increased moisture resistance allows the construction of Saphir structures in rooms with high humidity - kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, etc. Also, due to the fact that the surface hardness of the Sapphire sheet is 50% higher than that of ordinary drywall, it has a longer overhaul life, and due to its increased strength, heavy objects can be hung on it. The geometrical dimensions of the Sapphire sheet are 1.2 m wide, 2.5 m high and 12.5 mm thick.
There are no analogues in Russia today that have the same spectrum of consumer properties as that of Sapfir. However, despite the significant advantages over other types of drywall, the Sapphire sheet remains affordable for the average consumer - the recommended retail price for it is only 15% higher than the price of a standard moisture-resistant gypsum board.
