The site of the Filikrovlya plant is an area of 6.7 hectares on the right bank of the Moskva River, vis-à-vis the Moscow City. It is part of the Western Port industrial zone. Along the southern border of the site there are open tracks of the Filyovskaya metro line, along the north-west - a railway branch of the Belarusian direction, which is planned to be supplemented with an overpass of the Kutuzovsky Prospekt backup: the new route will branch over the river to the north and east, to the City. All this provides both a significant noise level and the need to retreat from the sanitary zones of two, and in the future three, routes, as well as good transport accessibility: the Fili metro station, which is supposed to turn into a TPU, is even now located a five-minute walk from the nearest border of the site. … The proximity of the river adds pastorality and vistas to the picture; now the shore is covered with trees, and a panorama of the City opens above the water. A completely different attraction is the best monument of the "Naryshkin Baroque", the Church of the Intercession in Fili, located on the opposite, western side and not only promises a rare accent outside the window of the residents of the future residential complex, but also sets altitude restrictions. Although it cannot be said that they were very significant for this territory: from 80 m in the western part to 110 m in the eastern part.
The area is related to at least two large Moscow projects. It is part of the Big City area, initiated in 2005 by Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, a high-rise construction project on the site of industrial zones to the west of the Moscow business center, which united about 1,000 hectares and was later renamed New Center. Thus, plans to build on the site of the Filikrovlya plant date back to 2005 or even earlier. The second major plot, within which this territory falls, is the development of riverside territories, for the concept of which a large-scale competition was held two years ago. To the north of Filikrovli, on the same right bank of the river, on the other side of the railway, it is planned to build the Zapadny Port residential complex on the site of the cargo port; it is being designed by SPEECH, TPO Reserve and ADM. Also to the north, but on the left bank, on the site of the flour mill, the construction of a large residential complex according to the project of the Ostozhenka bureau begins, both of them are also related to the Big City and to the reorganization of coastal zones.
The organizers did not announce or publish the results of the competition. Our publication is the result of work with architectural bureaus that submitted their projects as competitive ones made for the Filikrovli territory. The bureaus are arranged here in alphabetical order, because - do not forget - the results of the competition were not let down or announced.
