The Kanda Terrace building was built in the heart of Tokyo, in the Chiyoda area. It belongs to the typology widespread in the city - a multi-tiered complex of restaurants, where each establishment occupies its own floor.
The goal of the architects was to create a building - a noticeable part of the urban environment, interesting from the point of view of a pedestrian, who can immediately recognize it as a "public catering facility". The task was complicated by a narrow and long section, bounded on three sides by streets.
The way out was the arrangement of terraces: they made the main facade open to the city and at the same time "let" the metropolis inside. Each restaurant now has an outdoor area from where you can see both the neighboring terraces and street life. Glazing of facades also contributes to permeability.
