This year the Eco_tectonics award ceremony was held as part of the Arch Moscow exhibition. The award, organized by the National Agency for Sustainable Development, has been awarded since 2015 and aims to demonstrate the benefits of using the foundations of green building in their practice by architects.
For this season, 105 applications from more than 30 regions of Russia were submitted for the prize, which demonstrates the persistent interest of the professional community in this topic. The jury members also noted the growing quality and technological complexity of the implemented and conceptual projects. If earlier their descriptions featured the simplest eco-technologies, such as solar panels, wind turbines and thermal insulation, today architects are beginning to take care of the visual quality of the environment, striving for the correct embedding of artificial objects into the natural landscape; Attempts to record and restore biodiversity in the projected territories were also noted. In terms of formats and designs, the jury noted that at the peak of popularity today, compact modular housing construction and the so-called growing architecture, capable of modifying and adapting to the needs of its owners.
Among the innovations this year is the special nomination "Certified Objects", as well as thematic nominations "On the way to a passive house in Russia" (from the Passive House Institute) and "Taking care of forests, in accordance with FSC" (from the Russian branch of the Forest Stewardship Council) …
