A new residential complex on the site of a former brewery in Khamovniki is neatly built into the existing urban fabric. According to the architects, it “develops the traditions of high-density residential development typical of the historical part of Moscow”: the complex consists of compact buildings of different heights connected to each other by a system of small courtyards. The façades of red brick and light natural stone echo the neighboring factory buildings from the late 19th century.
The architects not only brilliantly solved the problem of delicate interaction of new buildings with the historical environment, for which they were awarded the main prize "Golden Section-2017", but also tried to create a humane living environment due to the scale of development, natural materials, "hand-made" masonry and a variety of textures from the transport of yards.
Landscaping of the territory of the complex was carried out by the roofing and landscape company "Tsinko RUS". Since the courtyards are located on the roof of an underground two-level parking lot, it was necessary to mount a particularly durable roofing "pie" with an internal drainage system. Thanks to the drainage layer of Stabilodrain SD 30, the coating can even bear the weight of fire trucks. A sufficiently thick layer of soil made it possible to lay not only a wear-resistant lawn, but also to plant shrubs and trees.
