The 45-meter hyperboloid tower is the center of the new Camp Adventure park in the Giesselfeld-Kloster forest. The park includes various "climbing" objects and zip-line entertainment, but it is also important for it to introduce visitors to nature, including from a new perspective. The observation tower offers just such a way: a view from above at the crowns of trees. A 900 m long boardwalk leads to it: it allows you to walk through the forest without harming its ecosystem.
The tower fits neatly into the space between the trees, and the choice of materials also contributes: Corten steel and oak wood (sustainably sourced from Danish sources, PEFC certified) do not contrast with the surroundings.
A 670-meter spiral ramp is inscribed in the hyperboloid shell, gradually leading visitors to the upper platform, from where views open to the north - to Copenhagen and Malmö, and to the south and east - to rural South Zealand. The shape of the hyperboloid was chosen because it gives the maximum area of the lower and upper surfaces (diameter - 28.4 m), and the minimum - in the middle (14.2 m). This option is both stable and gives a spectacular sculptural volume.

Among the structures that are similar in function and structure, but not in shape, one can name the Baumwipfelpfad in the Bavarian forest: we wrote about this structure resembling an egg or a cone here.
