The ArchBukhta festival has been held by the Club of Young Architects of Irkutsk since 2007. Teams from different Russian cities come to Lake Baikal every spring to compete in the creation of small architectural forms and art objects. But the objects are not only intended for competition - they are then designed to decorate the city, make courtyards and public spaces more comfortable and attractive.
The theme of the festival is different every year. This season, the main idea was to use a limited amount of resources. As conceived by the organizers, work within certain boundaries (limitation of materials, limitations on the dimensions of structures) should have led to a better result. 20 teams were selected to participate. For several days in March, they worked on the construction of their facilities, after which the invited experts and guests of the festival chose the winners.
The Grand Prix honored the work of the TG team. The modular structure "Wings of Bacchus" consists of two symmetrical elements, assembled from which small architectural forms can serve as a photo zone, an information stand, a seating area, a bar counter or a DJ console.
First place - the team has P (R) Art-s and their # Conversational. She emphasizes the value of face-to-face meetings and simple conversations. Here you can turn off your phone and chat while looking the other person in the eye.
In second place - LEGOThealer from the team of students of IRNITU "Spectrum". This object was created for the exchange of books. A recognizable character is able to draw attention to the contents of their shelves and create an area for play and fun around him. The Audience Award also went to the LEGOThealer.
Third place - also among students of IRNITU. The Turmeric team created the Divide and Conquer object - a point for the separate collection of waste: plastic bottles, glass, waste paper, batteries.
Most of the objects created during the festival have already found their place in city courtyards. The rest are at the final stage of preparation for placement: additional reinforcement of structures, painting are carried out. Some of the installations will be located on Konny Island on the Angara, also within the boundaries of Irkutsk.
