The presentation of the prize, which in its short history has evolved from the Arch Council prize into the Mayor's Prize, or simply the Moscow Architectural Prize, was held last year on Tverskaya with the participation of Sergei Sobyanin. This year, the winners were announced in the courtyard of the Museum of Architecture, where, fortunately, it did not rain (well, it did not immediately start). Everyone rejoiced at the good weather and the holiday of the Day of the Architect, although at the end of the ceremony Sergei Kuznetsov told everyone from the stage that even Nikolai Shumakov, the President of the Union of Architects, on the sidelines asked what kind of holiday it was today, July 1. So, the day of the architect. Last year's presentation was also timed to coincide with it, so it's a tradition. Sergei Kuznetsov also promised that the mayor will soon present awards to the winners of this year, but in a more formal, apparently, atmosphere.

Small clarification [UPD 02.07. 19:31]: yesterday the winners were announced and presented with signs and diplomas from the Moscow City Architecture Committee. The mayor will soon be expected to present the prize itself - certificates for a monetary award, 1 million rubles to each winner. This presentation is taking place in the former home of the Governor-General, so the award process has not yet been completed. The official name of the award is "the city of Moscow in the field of architecture and urban planning", informal - the Moscow Architectural Prize.

The ceremony, on the other hand, was extremely emotional, the architectural elite was present with an almost complete list, guests were even offered original cocktails from the award-winning architects.

Hospital in Kommunarka

Vladimir Plotkin, whose project of a hospital with a maternity hospital in Kommunarka won in the Education and Medicine nomination, immediately invited the entire team of authors to the stage. The project won the competition (see competition version), which took place in 2016.

By the way, diplomas were handed in twos - Vladimir Plotkin was awarded to Yulia Burdova from Buromoscow, laureate of last year's prize, and Nikolai Shumakov, who first from the screen, then from the stage commented: whatever TPO "Reserves" undertakes, everything turns out great.

The award for the best residential building, or not, is like this: "the architectural and urban planning solution of a residential object" (architects, you are not tired, you will break your language about such names) - was received by the brilliant Sergei Skuratov for "Medny House" in Donskoy Proezd. The house, exclusively aesthetic, consists entirely of wide slopes, framing windows at different angles. Two towers are brick, with a characteristic stretch in color and textured masonry characteristic of Sergei Skuratov, one is covered with panels of shiny copper, like some old retort. Alexander Tsimailo, presenting his diploma, quipped about the height of Skuratov's buildings.

Sergei Skuratov, however, went on stage twice. He was also awarded a new award nomination - Media Person of the Year. Its jury consisted of journalists, it was required to choose architects who are better than others in contact with the press and, in general, who are active in the media space. The award was presented by the chief editor of the Project Russia magazine, Yulia Shishalova, and the chief architect of the city, Sergei Kuznetsov.

Sergei Skuratov immediately voiced a manifesto from the stage about the sore point: it would be good to change the vector of what is happening in the city, to form not individual objects, but a comfortable city as a whole, so that the powers of the chief architect are greater, and the role of architects in general in projects is more significant."So that they do not get a ready-made GPZU", then tormenting how to fulfill the requirements laid down in it to the maximum and create a decent project. Then, already as a media person, the architect thought for a second - and repeated almost the same words: “the architectural workshop lacks freedom and independence of will and courage, we have more than foreign colleagues, determination and fearlessness we absorb with mother's milk, we could make the best architecture in the world, we do not have enough freedom,”you must agree, these words are worth quoting. Sergei Kuznetsov's remark followed immediately after: I hope, after Sergei Skuratov's words, we will not go and arrange a demonstration at Okhotny Ryad at once … Or maybe it should be, - the chief architect reacted like this. Perhaps this was the most interesting moment of the evening.

The best project of the multifunctional complex was named “Akademik” business center - a lens building with a pixel portrait of the luminary of science, already actually built on Vernadsky Avenue by the architects of the UNK project. Everyone drove along the avenue, everyone saw the building, so the discussion revolved around how it was perceived. It sounded: I was driving by, I was surprised, I wanted to return to study what it is. Serious praise. The building really attracts the eye and surprises - whether you can recognize Vladimir Ivanovich there, or not, but the shadow of some academician definitely looms. But the main thing is that it is thin, white, simple, but constantly changing, does not press at all, but it is impossible to break away, as if some other type of matter for Moscow had formed in the vain development of the south-west.

There were two winners in the sports, cultural and educational category. One is the new entrance to the zoo of the workshop of Yuri Vissarionov, who commented on his project as follows: an ideal zoo is not a zoo with animals in cages, it is just a park, a place where you can stay in silence and relax, disconnect from the stresses of city life.

Small and rather laconic, but with a signature "Asad" style bright lamella lattice on the facade.

Alexander Asadov not only brought the entire team of authors to the stage, but also divided the prize in half, handed a blue-green sign to the GAP, and took only a diploma in his hands, that the performance turned out to be one of the most artistic. However, in one way or another, everyone was artistic that evening - the topic was pleasant.

The jury consists of members of the Arch Council. An application for participation can be submitted by any Moscow project that received an AGR in the previous - in this case 2018 - year. Nominations from this year are flexible, now they are formed after the selection of nominees, which will allow the award to adjust the policy in accordance with the material and even count on the emergence of new functions. In 2019, there are 21 projects among the finalists, four nominations. The award has been presented since 2012 as an Arch Council prize, and since 2017 as the Moscow Architectural Prize. Award site.
