The village "Gorki-1" is located 30 km from Kaluga on the banks of the Oka and surrounded by forest. The architects divided it into several zones: public and residential, with forest and river plots, larger or smaller. Most "plots" are sold vacant and the buyer can build any house. But at the entrance to Gorki, an "architectural" semi-urban environment has been formed - with houses, a shop, a children's center and a sports complex, made in the same style, as the "face" of the village and, possibly, an example to follow.
Authors of the "settlement center"
workshop GAP and Tatiana Gorkova, group houses around an artificial pond. Each is made according to an individual project, the area varies from 120 to 180 m2… The houses are simple and neat: 1-2 floors, with a pitched roof, on which snow does not linger, with drainage systems hidden behind the back wall, “white top, black bottom”. They are located so as to "catch" windows and terraces as much sunlight as possible.
A cladding material - Japanese panels made of KMEW fiber cement - played a special role in creating a laconic image. The architects chose them for their strength and high
environmental characteristics, as well as for the successful imitation of natural materials. In "Gorki" two textures are used: under the milky-white plaster and under the wood of two shades. Another important advantage is that the joints can be made almost invisible if the installation technology is followed correctly or, for example, by placing panels of contrasting color next to it.
KMEW panels are used in other facilities as well. The most notable is the bridge over the pond, which the architects turned into a functional art object: it has two levels, on the lower one you can sit with your legs dangling, and from the upper one it is convenient to dive. Artificial reservoirs in the village are connected to a purification system, the water in them is renewed in about a day, so you can easily swim here. Some houses also have their own walkways leading into the water.
On the shore of a nearby pond, there is a kids' club, made in the same style as the houses. It is decorated with bright graffiti and colored slopes that fit well with the calm range of plaster and wood. Large windows and sloping roofs, which allowed for high ceilings, made the interiors spacious and flooded with natural light.
The implementation turned out to be very close to the idea. Since the panels are very thin - only 16 mm, and the joints are invisible, the effect of a single surface and monolithic volumes is created … The facade system is installed on a metal lathing with mineral wool insulation.
On the base, manufacturers recommend making "castings" that will protect the panels from excess moisture, as well as from mechanical damage during snow removal. A full inspection of the commissioned objects and other recommendations for the installation of Japanese panels can be seen in the video.
