The tournament, organized by the Yakov Chernikhov Foundation, has been held within the framework of the Arch of Moscow for the second year in a row. Its goal is to support the art of hand-made architectural graphics in today's digital world. The name of the tournament - "The Line of Thought" - is a paraphrase of the title of the book of the Finnish theorist of architecture Juhani Pallasmaa "The Thinking Hand". In the book, the author notes: "In the intense process of creativity, the hand often takes a leading role in the first attempts of imagination to express itself … The hand is not just a faithful, but still a passive executor of the will of the mind, it has its own intentions, knowledge and skill." …
The theme this year sounded like this: "I have erected a monument / EXEGI MONUMENTUM …". The participants had only ten minutes to reflect it in their drawings. The process was broadcast on a large screen - spectators and jury members could watch it. The tournament was held in several sessions, and here, in the hall, an exhibition of works was organized, which was constantly replenished. When all the participants - and there were 23 in total - “performed”, the jury, chaired by theater artist, set designer and writer Sergei Barkhin, consulted and named the winner.
The prize of the tournament "Silver Stylos", designed by Andrey Chernikhov, was unanimously awarded to the dynasty of Asadov architects - Alexander, Andrey, Yulia and Nikita, whose works made up a single composition "I have erected a monument …".
