“We consider it our duty to inform publicly about this tragic event now, since many people love Oleg sincerely in our country,” the Association's pages on social networks say. Oleg Panitkov, a brilliant expert in the field of ecological and wooden construction, a sweet and friendly person who, of course, had many friends, died in an accident on September 6. Such sudden tragedies, unexpected, are always especially painful. “The trouble is, it’s impossible to believe, imagine, understand. Without Oleg, life will not be the same”, - wrote the director of MARSH Nikita Tokarev in fb.

Oleg Panitkov was the development director of Velux and the project manager of the Active House, the first zero-energy experimental house in Russia, built in the Moscow region. In 2016, he was elected the head of the Association of Wooden Housing Construction. Participated in the work of several committees and councils, including the expert advisory council of the Ministry of Industry and the expert council of the well-known architects of the ArchiWOOD award. He worked with the standards of "green" construction and the updating of building codes, and the promotion of the idea of construction in our country of multi-storey buildings made of wood, a practice that is already quite widespread in European countries.

“For Oleg, the theme of an eco-friendly home, safe and healthy, well-lit and built to modern standards has always been extremely important, but he paid no less attention to good modern architecture, appreciated it, and worked with architectural awards related to wooden architecture. He was engaged in promoting the idea of modern wooden construction in the highest spheres, and many positive results, in particular, the project for adjusting the standards, owe their appearance to Oleg, his hard work and human energy. Even the fact that wooden houses now play a very special role at construction exhibitions, that they have become their decoration and a kind of favorite feature, is also largely Oleg's merit,”says Marina Prozarovskaya, chief engineer of Velux and Oleg Panitkov's long-term colleague.

“The last thing he said: the 21st century is the century of wood, not reinforced concrete, star bureaus are already designing large buildings made of wood,” wrote journalist Marina Ignatushko. “A terrible loss, I do not believe how this can happen,” - Totan Kuzembaev.

Our condolences. Bright memory.
