The winners of the Architecture Drawing Prize, held for the third consecutive year by Make and the John Soane Museum in London, have been announced as part of the World Architecture Festival (WAF). This season, architects, designers and students from 23 countries applied for awards, a total of 126 drawings. The works were evaluated in three categories: digital drawing, freehand drawing and mixed media.
The Grand Prix and victory in the digital category went to the German architect Anton-Markus Pasing for his work “City in a Box: Paradoxical Memories”. The picture shows an unknown, but full of stories, locked in a large box. It seems to be real, but at the same time it does not exist until the box is open.
In the category "Freehand drawing" the victory also went to an architect from Germany. The best work was recognized as the work of a well-known figure in humanitarian and social architecture
Anna Heringer "Master Plan of Rudrapur, Bangladesh". In order to reflect the high level of sustainability in the region and convey a philosophy of reuse, the urban master plan has been applied to the traditional Bangladeshi women's sari.
Finally, the award for Best Mixed Media Drawing went to Jerome Xin Hao Ng, a student at Bartlett School of Architecture in London, who has won the Architecture Drawing Prize not for the first time. Shown here is an alternate vision of Singapore's Golden Mile, an iconic example of metabolism in 1970s architecture that is in danger of being destroyed.
