The total area of the hotel-floating platform with a capacity of one room is 74 m2. The room is two-story and is designed for two guests. The first tier of 40 m2 is a living room with an adjoining bathroom and a terrace. The second, with an area of 34 m2, is a chill-out deck, a relaxation area. Both tiers are equipped with lighting and acoustic systems.

Guests can control the environment inside the hotel by controlling lighting, sound, fragrances and security with a dedicated app. You can configure these parameters and, if you wish, change them both from the platform itself and remotely. The interior also features a biodynamic lighting system that automatically adjusts to the ambient light level outside.

The architectural studio Mano de Santo and the KM Zero Open Innovation Hub company came up with Punta de Mar as a very comfortable and functional hotel, where you can completely dissolve or merge - as you like - with the sea. This is possible, among other things, thanks to glass from Guardian Glass, a strategic partner of the project. The Guardian not only helped the initiators of the project select glass from their wide range and deliver it to the construction site, but also provided technical support for the glazing of this unusual hotel on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, near the city of Denia in the province of Alicante.

The floating house is equipped with double-glazed windows, which include a Guardian triplex: it has excellent energy-saving characteristics, ensures safety and a high level of noise insulation. Highly selective Guardian SunGuard® SN 70/35 HT glass is installed in the glass unit as an outer glass; medium glass is Guardian ExtraClear®; Well, the inner glass is a triplex, on the surface of which the Guardian ClimaGuard® Premium2 coating is applied (the coating is deployed into the chamber), which is also responsible for energy efficiency. The resulting structure provides light transmission at the level of 61%, the solar factor is 32%. In other words, glass allows natural light to enter the hotel's interior, but at the same time helps block out most of the heat from the scorching Spanish sun, provides thermal insulation, sound insulation and a high level of protection.

At the same time, the glass has an optimal color rendering index, it allows the guests of "Punta de Mar" to freely enjoy the seascapes, without feeling the boundaries between the apartments and the environment, smoothly moving along the waves in their floating home.

Guardian SunGuard® HD Silver 20 glass was chosen for the interior decoration: it is used in dressing rooms and bathrooms, used in the manufacture of bed headboards. The glass has a mirror effect, thanks to which the authors of the project managed to ensure privacy in some rooms and create the appearance of a larger space in others.

Architect Francesc de Paula Garcia, co-founder of Mano de Santo, stresses: “The role of glass, like the other materials we selected for the project, was extremely important. With their help, we tried to convey the closest possible connection with the environment. The glass had to be extremely transparent, and at the same time insulating. Do not forget about the maximum possible glazing areas, which provide guests with a 360-degree view. The guests seem to be in a transparent glass shell, and this gives them the feeling of complete unity with nature around. It was possible to achieve this just due to the glass. When installing sliding windows and doors, the narrowest and most inconspicuous aluminum profile was used as glazing components. Thanks to this, sunlight freely fills the interior, and from the inside, nothing prevents you from enjoying the contemplation of the sea surface.

Punta de Mar is a prefabricated building, therefore waste during construction is reduced to zero: its modules are assembled using the Plug & Go system. Materials with the lowest environmental impact were used for the project. Due to the small size of the platform, it can be easily towed by water or transported by land, which increases its adaptability to the changing needs of guests or owners.

For the project, the glass produced by Guardian Glass was treated with ControlGlass, and the installation services of Technal aluminum system were used.
