House-anthill, house-egg, structures in the form of a giant dome, flower or pyramid, underwater and surface structures, crazy structures hanging in the air. The variety of architectural solutions in the modern world is amazing. Amazing and unlike anything houses appear all over the world and become recognizable symbols of cities and even countries. For example, when Australia is mentioned, everyone instantly imagines the Sydney Opera House, and when talking about Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum of Contemporary Art, designed by Frank Gehry.

In recent years, many iconic and impressive buildings have also appeared in Russia - from Olympic venues in Sochi to modern airports in St. Petersburg or Saratov.

Today we will talk about the most unusual projects in Russia implemented using Tatprof products.

JSC Tatprof is the largest Russian manufacturer of aluminum profiles by extrusion. Tatprof is 7 pressing complexes and 60 thousand tons of aluminum profiles per year. System profiles and accessories are used for ventilated and other types of facades, translucent roofs, stained-glass windows, windows, installation of internal partitions and doorways.

Aluminum profiles are durable, wear-resistant, energy efficient. But just as importantly, they provide tremendous opportunities for creating expressive, unique architectural forms.

This year the Tatprof company celebrates its 30th anniversary. For three decades of work, a huge number of projects have been implemented throughout Russia, in the CIS countries, as well as in Europe and Central Asia. Among them are the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow, the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, the Ak Bars Arena in Kazan, the Big Ice Palace in Sochi and much more.

An unusual bionic building was built in Vladivostok in 2016. And this is, perhaps, one of the most amazing structures not only in the Far Eastern region, but throughout the country.

The complex occupies almost 95 hectares on the Zhitkov Peninsula. In addition to the main building, it includes several scientific, educational and administrative buildings, as well as a large park area. The main building consists of two main volumes: on the southwest side, in the left wing, there is an oceanarium with an underwater tunnel 70 m long, in the northeast part there is a dolphinarium with a pool and stands for 800 spectators.

The Primorsky Oceanarium is a huge building with a total area of more than 37 thousand square meters, inside there are nine permanent exhibitions and 135 aquariums. But the building is still striking not in size, but in appearance. The building looks like a huge, slightly open white shell, washed ashore by a sea wave. The image is especially readable when viewed from above. You can even see a precious “pearl” under the blue canopy of the “wave”. This is the central entrance, shaped like a giant glass ball that juts out against the backdrop of a fully glazed curved façade.

Glazing is used not only to decorate the building perimeter, but also to create skylights on the roof. The facade series TP-50300 of the Tatprof company made it possible to masterfully integrate glass stained-glass windows on the canvas of facades and roofs. A profile with excellent heat and sound insulation characteristics is suitable for use in the special climatic conditions of the Far East. And thanks to the plastic capabilities of the aluminum profile, it was possible to emphasize the complex, natural forms of the building. This series is suitable for vertical and inclined post-translucent translucent structures. The curtain walls were attached to the load-bearing elements using steel and aluminum assemblies.

Kazan family center in Kazan

Project author: Dashi Namdakov

The main wedding palace, built in 2013 in Kazan, is located on the banks of the Kazanka River, opposite the ensemble of the Kazan Kremlin. The author of the project is the sculptor and painter Dashi Namdakov.

This symbolic and instantly recognizable building has become one of the main attractions of the capital of Tatarstan in seven years. And this is not surprising. The building is 32 m high and stands on a hill and is noticeable from a distance. A wide staircase leads to the main entrance. The volume itself is difficult to confuse with anything - a giant bowl in the form of a traditional Tatar cauldron stands on a stone base, similar to a tripod. At night, with the illumination on, you can imagine a fire blazing under the cauldron - a family hearth. All these are very significant images for the Tatar people, symbolizing prosperity.

The "bowl" is lined with copper sheets and decorated with bas-reliefs depicting Zilant dragons and winged leopards. Dragons are represented on the coat of arms of Kazan, and leopards are on the coat of arms of the Republic of Tatarstan. The facades are also decorated with traditional ornaments for wedding dresses of Tatar brides.

"Kazan" supports a stone base with high pointed arches. An observation deck is organized on the roof, open not only for newlyweds, but for all townspeople and tourists.

The complex artistic concept was realized with the help of modern building technologies and materials. Glazing of facades and spatial arches became possible thanks to the TP-50300 and TPSK-60500 series of the Tatprof company. These are solid and durable aluminum structures that make it possible to bring any architectural design to life.

Windows from the "warm" profile of the TP-65 series have become an excellent solution, taking into account the location of the building on the river bank. The design of the profile of this series provides for a special thermal insert, which reliably protects windows from wind and freezing in winter and allows them to be used even in the coldest regions of the country.

The interior spaces of the wedding palace with a huge hall and a ceiling height of about 15 m, as well as majestic ceremonial halls for holding wedding ceremonies are zoned by "cold" windows and doors of the TP-45 series.

The building of the national library was built in the center of Grozny, next to the theater and concert hall and the National Museum of the Chechen Republic. The library consists of three buildings, united into one complex. The main eight-story building is facing the street. G. A. Ugryumova. It houses the main reading rooms, book depositories, video library, galleries and cafes.

Behind the main building is a low three-story block that houses a library for young children and a large atrium with a winter garden. The third volume with a height of seven floors for senior schoolchildren closes the composition with a glass dome.

The total area of the library is more than 13 thousand square meters, and the library fund has about 120 thousand documents. The authors of the project themselves compare the shape of the building with an open book. The main façade may also resemble a bookcase, where the bay windows of the upper floors are the spines of giant books. The image is really impressive and unusual.

To implement such a large-scale project, the developer made a choice in favor of Tatprof products. Curtain facades, semicircular bay windows, glazing of atriums and roofs - all this was done using the TP-50300 and TPSK-60500 series. Moreover, the intersections of posts and crossbars here are both classic and non-standard - for example, when facing a glass dome.

The TPSK series is specially designed for the manufacture of translucent coverings of various configurations: from pitched and gable roofs to domes, arched vaults, pyramids of any configuration, etc. The series is equipped with additional profiles for organizing the inner corners of hip roofs, tops of domes and pyramids, for junction points of posts, as well as a reinforced embedded profile for crossbars and posts of the second level, experiencing increased loads from filling.
