Architecture is the art of working with form and space. At the same time, it is a game of interpretation and a space for experiment. In formal studies and research, the poetics of logical abstraction, implicit for the observer, is encoded, implemented in the form of a physical object.
The GRADAS company took part in a creative experiment initiated by the ATRIUM architectural bureau. The result was the presentation of the jointly developed installation at the ArchMoscow 2020 exhibition.
One of the tools for working with a form is material: it helps to reveal and manifest it, to endow it with additional properties. In our architecture, it acts primarily as an additional information layer that supports the level of emotional, tactile and associative perception of the form.
Materiality is a source of inspiration and a way of exploring structures that we transform into unique spatial patterns. The texture of the material can become the primary element of the future architectonics of forms and the system solution of the project.
Thus, this spatial pattern creates a system that can scale from façade elements to urban planning. In its physical embodiment, it reveals the possibilities of assembly, cutting and processing of metal sheets, where all panels can vary in size, contour, angle of rotation and the nature of aesthetic processing. The result is a living, dynamic surface, a fragment of an endless picture that goes from the origins of natural forms to the structure of buildings and landscapes.
