Before designing, the architects from the CRITICUM bureau tried to get into the spirit of the place, for which they walked a lot and conducted surveys. German brick houses in combination with Czech trams and sprawling greenery behind the façades give a special mood to the area. The calmness of a measured life here is "disturbed" only by children - their life requires colors and space for games.
The discovery of this need led to the idea of a system of promenades that lead to the "heart of the quarter" - a small square with landscape ideas: swings, sun loungers, benches and landscaping. The paths are lined with red brick, and this is not only a roll call with the facades of old houses, but also a reference to the fairy tale about the Wizard of the Emerald City: on the way to the swing, secret tasks from a lion, a woodcutter and a scarecrow are hidden. The square is being transformed from a marginal territory into a playground for family leisure, games, walking pets and regional chess or table tennis tournaments.
