The huge seat of the GDR parliament can be used as a museum of contemporary art (like the Parisian Center Pompidou), as well as to showcase the extensive collection of Berlin's Dahlem Museums - an ethnographic collection, as well as - Indian, East Asian and ancient European art. Of particular interest are sculpture and ceramics of the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas. It will also be possible to place the collections of the Museum Island museums there during the reconstruction of the ensemble. All this can be presented to the public in two or three years, and for only 60 million euros, while the demolition and construction of the new "palace" will cost 500 million and will take 15-20 years.

After the reconstruction of the steel frame structure in the former Palace of the Republic - the new "Palace of World Culture", three zones will appear: the "Laboratory of Contemporary Art", which will occupy the old meeting room of the People's Chamber, the multi-tiered "Hall of Sculpture" on the floors around the main hall, and a space with shops and a cafe on the ground floor.

The collections of the Dahlem Museums will be exhibited in the form of an open storage room - that is, all items will be available for viewing on an area of 106,000 square meters. m - which will be twice as much as in the newly built palace.
