The site will be Manzanares Park, and the new building will be placed on an axis that continues the line of neighboring streets: thus, it will be included in the urban development system.
Perrault's idea was not just to build a new building, but to draw attention to its architecture. From the outside, it will form a shell for the various functions of this sports facility, changing depending on the current tasks, and also playing the role of an original addition to the natural landscape. It moves and changes its appearance, softens the sunlight and protects the pavilions of the sports complex inside.
During the day, it plays the role of an ultraviolet filter and looks like a matte surface; at night it shimmers and gleams like a theater curtain. Along with multifunctional arenas, the building will include warm-up and training rooms, a press center, and a hall for special events.
