The bridge, 220 meters long, will be designed for pedestrians and cyclists and will connect the districts of Saint-Clair and Caluire-et-Cuir. It will have two "working surfaces" - a traditional straight blade and a stepped arc partially supporting it.
This is not the first pedestrian bridge of the Austrian Feichtinger in France: among his most famous works is the Simone de Beauvoir Bridge in Paris, for which he received the Silver Square. Also an architect since 2007 - the holder of the world record for the length of the pedestrian bridge for the 346-meter "Bridge of Three Countries" (Passerelle des Trois Pays, Dreiländerbrücke), connecting German Weil am Rhein and French Juning, 100 meters from which the Swiss border passes and Basel is located nearby.
In another part of France - in the north, in Lille - Rudy Ricciotti won the competition for the project of an office and hotel complex in the business district of Euralille. It will be an ensemble of two buildings with rounded corners, the facades of which will be enlivened by dynamically positioned window openings. The hotel component of the future complex is especially important for the developer Nexity and the city authorities: its construction is planned to be completed by 2012, so that the hotel can accommodate the French Olympic gymnastics team (Lille is connected to London, where the 2012 Olympic Games will be held, by the Eurostar train line) …
