The solution to both of these buildings - the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at Sydney University of Technology, Denton Corker Marshall and the Faculty of Architecture, Construction and Planning of the University of Melbourne Office dA and John Wardle Architects - is based on the selection of the corners of buildings whether not more than their facades, and also - at work with the "permeability" of the walls.

In the case of the University of Sydney Department of Engineering, the openings in its outer shell of metal panels are divided into three levels according to size. The most important are the glazed "canyons" arranged in each of the corners of the building: through them any pedestrian can walk through the building, thereby cutting off a section of the path in the city center. Also, the visual and functional connection between the interior and the street space is carried out by vertical "slots" in each of the four facades. Finally, the cladding panels themselves are perforated with a pattern from the digitized full name of the faculty.

The Melbourne Faculty of Architecture is riddled with courtyards and open terraces, not counting window openings of various shapes and sizes that mark different functional areas: auditoriums, a library, an exhibition hall, training workshops and seminar rooms. At the same time, its sharp corners serve as the most striking example of this various "perforation", as well as visual vanishing points for the entire architectural composition.
