Despite this, the competition is still pending: by August of this year, the jury will re-examine all three options, with an emphasis on cost and feasibility aspects; the final winner will have to score at least 50-70 "points" out of 100 possible.
So, the competition was won by the union of Jan Kleichus and Klaus Schuwerk Kleihues and Schuwerk (he was awarded 1st place), the Danish bureau JAJA Architects ApS with Jakob Rolver (2nd prize) and Henning Larsen's workshop (3rd prize) … Among the rest of the finalists (previously all projects were presented to the public anonymously), as well as among the winners, Scandinavian bureaus prevail. The version of Zaha Hadid, the only one of the "stars" marked in the competition, earned only an honorable mention.
After the architect of the museum is finally decided, the project and its budget must be approved by the Norwegian parliament. The completion of construction is scheduled for 2016-2017.
