The light limestone and glass structure is located east of the famous "Villa Burlington", the first Palladian building in Britain built by the owner of the estate, Lord Burlington, after the model of the Villa Rotunda. Such a neighborhood forced architects, usually quite free in their formal searches, to turn to minimalism with a touch of classics. The building is surrounded by deep porticos, and the axes of the door and window openings do not coincide with the location of the supports, which gives dynamics to the interior of the cafe. There are practically no classic allusions in the interior: it is a neutral space with several “relevant” details, receding into the background next to the surrounding park.
The park, also created in the first half of the 18th century. Burlington, together with his protégé William Kent, was somewhat desolate in the last decades of the last century, although it belongs to the earliest and finest examples of a landscape park in history. Now its sculpture and pavilions, as well as landscape objects have been restored, the views and panoramas that existed initially have been restored, the garden furniture has been updated and brought to uniformity.
