The building, which has received the semi-official nickname "Octopus", will be located at the roundabout where the highway leading from Heathrow Airport to the British capital passes. To revive these bleak “gates of the city” for the Olympics, it was decided to build an original office building on the “island” in the middle of this intersection. According to the first version of the project (2009), the crystal volume was supposed to be covered by LED media screens with information and advertising, but in the current version there is only one such billboard: the authorities insisted on this - in their opinion, such a decision would distract drivers and could lead to numerous accidents. At ground level, three such screens were set aside: they will not be visible to motorists passing by.
In addition, the height of the building was reduced by 3 m, and the area of office space was almost doubled, from 2,745 m2 to 4,825 m2. The facades will be covered with colored glass panels: red in the lower half, yellow in the upper half. On the upper tier of the building, a winter garden will be arranged, clearly visible from the outside. At ground level, green tentacles were added to the building: because of them, the Octopus got its nickname.
