For fifteen years of practice in the Russian capital, Timur Bashkaev has successfully entered the architectural space of Moscow and the region. According to his designs, shopping centers, pedestrian bridges over the Moscow Ring Road, restaurants, multi-level parking lots and several residential buildings were built, including a spectacular complex with a water park in Podolsk. And it was also thanks to Bashkaev that the appearance of the railway stations "Los", "Mytishchi", "Vykhino" and "Lyubertsy" was transformed, waiting rooms at the Yaroslavsky railway station were reconstructed, and some cottage villages were built in the near and distant suburbs. The portfolio includes architects and realizations outside Moscow and the Moscow region - for example, an office building in Pyatigorsk, a residential complex in Syktyvkar, a hotel in Atyrau (Kazakhstan). And projects, which so far can only be found on the pages of a fresh monograph, with a successful coincidence of circumstances, can radically change the architectural appearance of Perm, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Astrakhan.
The list of buildings made according to his drawings is impressive not only for its geographical spread, but also for its originality. Bashkaev's signature style is easily recognizable by his ability to fit into a limited space, by his ability to revive an industrial zone with the help of “flying”, streamlined structures, by the effect of airiness and weightlessness that even the most “large-sized” buildings create for him.
Within the walls of the "Kultproekt" gallery, where layouts of the most interesting works of Bashkaev are located, many people have gathered who have long and well known both the hero of the occasion and the history of the creation of certain projects. In particular, the architectural critic Nikolai Malinin spoke about how the changing author's vision of Timur Bashkaev more than once puzzled him: “First I wrote him down as a high-tech adherent, then as a follower of ecological ideas, and then, when I saw the roofs he designed and walls of the waiting rooms of the Yaroslavl station, I did not know how to classify it. Timur builds more than just buildings, this is high architecture, but he designs them for the widest masses, who use these buildings and touch them with their hands, and this is very cool"
Bashkaev himself was brief and in his speech he mentioned that most often he hears the phrase "Timur and his team" - worn out, but perfectly characterizes the well-coordinated work of the employees of the architectural bureau created by him. "His guys", with whom the architect has been working for 15 years, he is almost more proud of the buildings. So at the presentation of the monograph, Bashkaev spoke not only about his own projects, but also about the achievements of his students and colleagues. By the way, among the latter are the architects Alexei Goryaev and Mikhail Krymov, who have developed the concept of the "Russian Spiritual Center", which is planned to be erected in Paris.
In the monograph that Timur Bashkaev dedicated to his parents, you can see not only photographs of completed objects and sketches of new ones (among the latter, for example, the urban planning concept of a residential area in Astrakhan based on a system of looped buildings and streamlined high-rise forms of the transparent office and residential complex "Gagarinsky"), but also numerous images of the interiors of the RUSNANO pavilion. Bashkaev's team developed them for the Russian exposition at the international exhibition "Expo-2010", which was held in Shanghai last year. The same photographs adorned the walls of "Kultproekt", becoming vivid illustrations for the story of Bashkaev about the difficulties and curiosities with which any, even the most elegant, plan is embodied in reality.
