One of the central architectural events of the coming week promises to be the final seminar of the European project "RKM Save Urban Heritage", aimed at preserving the architectural heritage of the 1920s and 30s. Experts from Rome, Kiev and Moscow will take part in the seminar, which will begin on December 12 at the Italian Institute of Culture. Among the main issues to be discussed at the meetings is the role of territorial marketing and tourism development in promoting the architectural and urban heritage of the city. The project team will present several examples of the successful use of architectural heritage sites as an incentive for the development of cultural tourism, using the examples of the cities of Firmini (France) and Como (Italy). In addition, the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Rome "Sapienza" will present an experimental project to save the Shukhov Tower.

The legacy of the 1920s will also become the theme of the lecture-performance "Constructivism of the 1920s: a dialogue between architecture and music", which will be held on December 14 at the VKHUTEMAS gallery. As promised in the announcement of this event, “the presenters (architecture historian Denis Romodin and musicologist, author of the book“European Music of the 20th Century”Anna Ilyicheva) will attempt the mode of visual visual-auditory comparisons”. In other words, the story of avant-garde architecture will be accompanied by the music of its time.

On December 16, the Sakharov Center will host a presentation of paintings and graphics by the Soviet artist, art critic, restorer Nikolai Sychev within the framework of the Exhibition of One Exhibit project. Konstantin Mikhailov, a Moscow scholar, will speak at the opening of the exhibition with a lecture “10 years of Kolyma behind the Sukharev Tower: The Political Context of Cultural Heritage Protection in the Soviet Union”.

In the Pharmaceutical Order of the Museum of Architecture next week, a photo exhibition "Moscow vertical" will open. The works of the Italian photographer Gabriele Basilico, who for 15 years filmed the Russian capital from the peaks of the Seven Sisters, the famous Stalinist skyscrapers, are a very interesting time slice and mercilessly record all the changes that Moscow's architecture has gone through during this period. The exhibition will run until February 5 next year. And on December 13, in the same museum, within the framework of the CREDO cycle, a lecture by one of the leading Moscow architects Yuri Grigoryan will take place.

Gallery "RuArts" next week will be one of the venues where the Year of Italian Culture in Russia will end. There, on December 15, will open a personal exhibition of the Italian artist and sculptor Riccardo Murelli "Introspections". The exhibition will feature paintings and graphic works of various formats, as well as sculptures from inox steel and a special project from Siberian larch.

And at the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts in mid-December, they will discuss the architecture of the future. There will be a meeting of the group for the study of the latest artistic trends, at which the art critic E. V. Igumnova will deliver a report "Architecture of eco-tech: from high technologies to environmental problems (1990–2000s)".
