The social role of the theater of "regional significance", which is de Stoup, is underlined by its "vertical foyer" with a grand staircase, open to sunlight, located in the center of the building and connected with a series of smaller spaces: it is a kind of stage for the audience. It connects two volumes of auditoriums - for 650 and 200 spectators, respectively. The building also houses a large cafe, a restaurant, a troupe cafe, dressing rooms, utility and administrative rooms.
Since the Teatro de Stoup is designed for performances of all types and genres - from opera and symphony concerts to dramatic performances and cabarets, the optimal position of acoustic panels on the ceiling for each type can be adjusted using a special computer program. Wall panels provide high quality sound for all viewers, regardless of their seating position.
The interior uses shades of pink and purple. The opaque part of the facade of the building continues this coloristic line: it is covered with two layers of aluminum panels, from the inside - purple, from the outside - white. Rounded holes are made in the outer shell, demonstrating the bright "lining" of the facade: at night, these "windows" are illuminated by LEDs.
A separate feature of the project is the location of the theater next to the Noitgedakht windmill: the volume of the UNStudio building is specially rounded so as not to block it from the wind.
During the design, not only the BIM method was used, but also DIM (Design information modeling) - "information model of the project". This made it possible to comprehensively and quickly test all elements of the project, which subsequently significantly reduced implementation costs.
