In terms of structure, this is a typical city museum - a multi-storey one, where stairs and elevators are not only a concession to the small size of the site, but also a way to effectively build the route of sightseeing. But here the situation was aggravated by the fact that in this area of Stockholm there is a ratio of 40/60 in the ratio of public and commercial to residential space in each new building. Therefore, in the Sven-Harry Museum, exhibition halls are adjacent to apartments.

The fact that a 5-storey building with a small 6-storey penthouse is not an ordinary residential building is evidenced by its golden facade. It is covered with sheets of the Nordic Royal alloy ("Scandinavian royal"), up to this point usually used for minting coins, in mechanical engineering and shipbuilding. It is inert, so even after years it will retain its luster. It is an alloy based on copper, with a content of zinc (4-6%), aluminum (4-6%) and tin (0.3-1.5%). Among other things, its yellow color is a reference to the ocher tone of the traditional buildings in Stockholm.

The ground floor houses temporary exhibition halls, art galleries and cafes. Also, the halls are located in the center of the building, and apartments are arranged around the perimeter. The penthouse is occupied by a permanent exhibition - a collection of Scandinavian art from the 20th century. Sven-Harry Karlsson, and it is placed in interiors that repeat the historical setting of his mansion - the way these works were originally placed by the owner.
