The Yongjia World Trade Center will be built in one of the most attractive areas for developers in Wenzhou. Such territories in China are called the term borrowed from English-speaking countries - CBD, Central Business District. In other words, the City, the center of business activity. In Wenzhou, the CBD is an artificial peninsula pierced by a canal with access to the sea.

The architecture of the complex is clear and understandable from a functional point of view. Five buildings ranging in height from 146 to 287 m "grow" from the podium, a man-made landscape structure, within which cultural and public institutions are designed. The authors themselves compare this podium with a tray or tray, and the towers, most likely, with mouth-watering works of urban “cooking”. Be that as it may, these buildings are intended to become a unique urban symbol of Wenzhou, a kind of a means of architectural identification of the city.

A few numbers. The total area of the above-ground part of the complex will be 500,000 m2. Of these, offices account for 150,000 m2, business and trade - 140,000 m2. The same amount is occupied by residential apartments with a panoramic view of the peninsula, designed in the upper parts of the buildings - plus a hotel with an area of 50,000 m2.

The volumes of the towers seem to be composed of separate elements with rounded corners and curved end surfaces. Such objects can often be found in illustrated books on European object design in the 60s of the last century. From a plastic point of view, all this looks quite homogeneous and the feeling of "discrete forms" does not arise - perhaps because the architects used so-called frames on the facades, which indicate the imaginary outlines of individual volumes in the mass. In those places where the frames intersect, niches, or "eyes", as they are named in the project, are formed. As conceived by the architects, these spaces will be used as public: there will be gardens, greenhouses, lounges and so on.
