It is quite possible that the three-time Olympic champion in biathlon, Belarusian Daria Domracheva, on the eve of the victorious starts, looked at the Sochi sky through the ALUTECH windows. The fact is that in the Olympic Village of the Coastal Cluster, where athletes live, all windows and doors are made of aluminum profiles produced by this company.
But this is not the only object built with the participation of the company: in the residential complex "Maly Akhun", which is also located on the territory of the Olympic Park, windows, doors, facades and sectional gates were produced at the plants "ALUTECH".
The same high quality products were used in the construction of the Laura electrical substation in Adler, which powers the Mountain Cluster with Olympic facilities in Krasnaya Polyana.
Olympic challenge: energy efficient and on time
Why were the products of this particular company chosen for the Olympic venues? As explains Rinat Shafigulin, Deputy Director for Marketing, Alutech-YugIn terms of aluminum facades, windows and doors, ALUTECH's market share is approximately 80% in Sochi and over 90% in Adler. At the same time, only proposals from large players were considered at tenders, which is associated with great responsibility and high requirements for contractors:
- Since all major contracting and installation organizations in the city of Sochi have been working with our company for a long time and are confident in the quality of our products, the choice was obvious - in terms of technical parameters, delivery terms, terms and prices, ALUTECH always makes the best offers. When choosing the systems, the characteristics influencing the further operation of the building were also considered - here the preference was also given to the ALUTECH systems.
In particular, special attention was paid to energy efficiency. This is due to the specifics of Sochi - regular voltage drops and frequent power outages in some areas of the city:
- The higher the heat-saving properties of the structure, the less electricity is needed to heat the building in winter, and in summer you can turn on the air conditioner less often. For the south of Russia, this is very important, since air conditioners work here for eight months a year, explains Rinat Shafigulin.
During the construction of the Olympic facilities, the requirements regarding the terms and conditions of product delivery were also increased. And the scale was really serious: ALUTECH sent three trucks of products to Sochi every week. The rhythm of the work was crazy, but the company did not miss anything, and all the objects were completed on time. True, now we will have to wean ourselves from such an appetite for supplies, because there will be no such volume of construction in Sochi in the near future.
ALUTECH has many complex structural systems, but in the case of Olympic venues, proven standard solutions were in demand: with tight deadlines, there was no time for architectural excesses. Therefore, mainly the most popular systems were used:
post-transom facade F50, as well as frame glazing with thermal break alt=" W62 and without thermal break alt=" C48.
Mission feasible: mount the façade of a 70-meter building without scaffolding
In addition to the Olympic facilities themselves, ALUTECH products were also used in the construction of infrastructure facilities. The company's systems have been used in the reconstruction of Adler International Airport, the construction of individual buildings in the Olympic Park for the Formula 1 race scheduled for October 2014, as well as in the construction of many other facilities - shops, cafes, residential complexes and even a fire station.
A difficult technical problem had to be solved at the 70-meter residential complex "Victoria" in the very center of Sochi during the installation of the facades of the warm series alt=" W62. There was no opportunity to install the scaffolding, so the contractor assembled blocks of 5 × 2.8 m at his production site and installed them from cradles and cranes. The task was difficult, but the builders coped with it.
Finally, in the center of the city there is another object that ALUTECH can be proud of - the most famous Sochi shopping gallery with an interesting architecture in the form of a wavy facade. Almost the entire range of ALUTECH products (aluminum facades and interior partitions, windows and doors, as well as roller shutters) was used during its reconstruction in 2012. We can say with confidence that most of the participants and guests of the Winter Olympics managed to appreciate the products of the ALUTECH Group of Companies at their true worth at numerous sites in Sochi.
