Follow In This Direction - Idea Contest
The Septima Clark Expressway runs through downtown Charleston, South Carolina. An important transport artery, it simultaneously unites and divides the city: the road is designed primarily for high-speed vehicles and is a dangerous section for pedestrians. The pedestrian bridge, built in 1975, does not solve all problems.
Participants of the competition are invited to figure out how to make the bridge more functional, as well as to achieve its transformation into a symbolic gateway to the city.
