Knauf Without Borders is a competition for student models. The first competition under this name was held by the Novosibirsk branch of the Eastern Sales Directorate of OOO KNAUF GIPS in 2013 together with the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Even then, the Students of NGASU (Sibstrin) amazed with their originality, talent, dedication, innovative ideas, creating a model of a car from Knauf-Rotband, a model of table hockey from a profile, components and sheet materials from Knauf and many other wonderful works. Having felt the taste of the implementation of successful projects, the company decided to test the possibilities of architecture students next year.
The 2014 competition differed from the previous one, first of all, in its “reality”, i.e. the participants of the competition had to develop a layout using KNAUF materials and place it on the walls of one of the university classrooms. The task, of course, is not an easy one. After all, the final work should not only improve the place, but also further inspire students to successfully study and implement professional plans. Understanding all the responsibility, the participants of the competition integrated their skills (artistic, painting, design, design) and presented the results of their creativity to the jury.
As a result, the walls of the auditorium are decorated with the symbol of the Faculty of Architecture of NGASU (author - Olga Porotnikova, group 412), a marine inhabitant - jellyfish (authors - Ochirova Diana and Tekenova Amyrai, group 411), made in the volume of several layers of Knauf-Sheets.
From a mixture of Knauf-Fugen, a capital was molded and cut by hand on the wall, which is decorated with a kind of crossword puzzle with volumetric letters cast from plaster mixes KNAUF (authors - Maria Lukina, Marina Batina, Elufimov Egor and Girenko Igor, group 411).
A panel was laid out of thin tiles based on Knauf-Perlfix, where each tile is a work of art depicting the most beautiful buildings and structures of the city of Novosibirsk. The members of this team (Popova Anastasia, Romanova Alena, Fefelova Anastasia, group 411) also showed themselves as excellent artists.
One of the teams (Dzyganskaya Yana, Yakovleva Valeria, Bereznyatskaya Maria, group 411) found a place in its layout for the play of light. Each element was individually cut from Knauf-Fireboard slabs, glued to the wall - a woman's silhouette appears there under the light of a spotlight. A lot of interweaving threads, fixed on the Knauf-sheet - in the work called "Tree" (authors - Nekrasova Nadezhda, Voronina Lyubov, Ivanova Ekaterina, Stepanova Natalia, group 411).
The unanimous winner of the competition was the work "Bird" by Anna Boltova, Ekaterina Gorina, Maria Tarasova and Tenova Myzyl. Composed of more than 200 elements of Knauf sheets, the "Bird" gave the impression of the most grace, lightness and flight.
Having decorated the audience with their works, the guys left the memory of the university for many years. It should be noted that such an event could only be carried out with close cooperation of all parties. Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning Sergey Viktorovich Litvinov, together with the staff of the KNAUF Training Center Galina Nikolaevna Fomicheva, Marina Evgenievna Mikheichenko and Denis Valerievich Surtaev, supervised the work of students, the educational department of NSASU promptly resolved issues of withdrawing the audience from the educational fund, the repair and construction department of the university helped in preparing to the placement of layouts, electrical installation, etc.
