Montforthaus is located between Feldkirch town center and the forested mountain. Compared to the previous building on this site with the same function - space for exhibitions, concerts, conferences, banquets, etc. - the new building takes up less space, so the area next to it has increased in size. The streamlined shape of the Montforthaus, with no main façade revealed, fits in with the irregular layout of the Feldkirch center; its compact volume does not block streets like the predecessor building, but allows them to flow further, to the border of the city.
Outside, the building is faced with beige limestone quarried in the German part of the Jura ridge: a stone of this color is typical for this area, and the new building "echoes" the houses of the historic center.
The main role in the interior is played by the white atrium, which faces the three main halls of Montforthaus - the main one lined with pear wood (1100-3000 spectators), the small one for 270 people, with a golden interior and the multifunctional bronze one, for 175 seats. They can be used together or separately, depending on the task. There are also three "seminar" rooms for 60-100 people each.
The Montforthaus also houses the city's tourist center and Vorarlberg ticket office, as well as a rooftop restaurant. In addition, the roof is partially greened (a "summer garden" has been created there), and solar panels are installed on it.
The underground garage has 79 urban and 59 private parking spaces, 4 charging points for electric vehicles and a rack for 30 bicycles.
