Moscow theater center "Cherry Orchard", the work of architects LLC "Teatrproekt", was awarded the "Golden Sign" of the festival "Zodchestvo" in the nomination "Object of Social and Cultural Purpose". He was also considered as a contender for the main award of the festival - "Crystal Daedalus".
The new stage of the theater center "Cherry Orchard" is located on Malaya Sukharevskaya Square, but this building has become one of the most notable new buildings in the capital, not only due to its location on the Garden Ring, but also because of the dynamic facade of light marble and glass, "flying" panels which seems to echo the movement of passing cars.
Either wave-like or "flying away" glass panels are held on the main facade by a clear stone "lattice", echoing the restrained rhythm of the windows of neighboring buildings - historical and modern. Thus, the stone part of the facade serves as the basis, the "frame" for the entire exterior of the building. It is faced with beige polished Jurassic marble of the Maxberg line (total area 830 m2) from the manufacturer Solnhofen Stone Group.
The nimble Maxberg marble is a fairly dense material that formed in the Frankish part of Bavaria about 160 million years ago. It is well polished, its technical characteristics allow it to be used both for decoration of external walls and for interiors, including in places with a large human flow: hotels, shops, banks, theaters, airports.
Jurassic marble is one of the very few natural stones certified in Russia for use on ventilated facades and having an F150 frost resistance index, which, along with aesthetic qualities, explains its popularity in Russia as a facade material
The Solnhofen Stone Group is a German holding company that owns four state-of-the-art stone processing plants and many of its own Jurassic marble and limestone quarries in Bavaria. Beige and gray are the basic tones of the Jurassic Maxberg marble quarried in Germany.
Solnhofen Stone Group supplies its products all over the world: London, Berlin, Dubai, etc. In Moscow, Jurassic marble Maxberg - a trademark of SSG - can be seen, for example, on the facades of the objects "Garden Quarters", "Italian Quarters", Barkli Virgin House, "Andreevsky House" on Frunzenskaya, "House on Trubetskoy", "Cherry Garden" at M. Serpukhovskaya Square, in the Sky-Light business center at Leningradsky Prospekt, etc.
