Arch Moscow is known not only for its expositions, but also for many events. There were about sixty of them this year. We have recorded some of them on video and bring them to your attention. First: a round table on the role of architecture in the cultural space of the city.
So: does the improvement of the streets help to expand the cultural spaces of Moscow? Does the new cultural life give rise to the need for a different architecture? Does Moscow need symbols that are not related to architecture, but reflect the cultural identity of the capital? Sergey Kuznetsov raised these questions at the round table on May 20. The best answer was the renovation of VDNKh. Among the speakers - Yuri Grigoryan; in his opinion, the whole city is a cultural space and any work of an architect should be considered with this. And VDNKh is no exception. Ekaterina Chuchalina, head of exhibition programs at the VAC Foundation, spoke about the restructuring of the HPP-2 building into a museum of contemporary art designed by Renzo Piano.
