Yesterday, at the opening of the VII Russian National Prize in Landscape Architecture, the winners of the Art_Eko landscape projects competition were announced, which this year was held for the third time. The competition is held with the support of Moskomarkhitektura and Mospriroda. The best projects will be implemented in the near future.
The participants had a task: relying on the principles of sustainable development, to create objects that could decorate the natural territories and streets of Moscow. The works were evaluated in three nominations: "Territory: city", "Territory: forest" and "Territory: water". The peculiarity of the competition is that the expert council not only considered the finished works, but also advised the authors on issues related to "green" technologies and environmental legislation.
“We conceived this competition as a way to comprehend the value of natural areas in Moscow, which are unique in principle for a metropolis. 17,000 ha (170 km2) specially protected natural areas are not just a visiting card of the city, it is the material embodiment of the values of society; what and how it grows in the city is not only an ecological question, but also a civilizational one. In fact, the Art_Eko competition is shaping a new path along which the city will develop. The greening of all spheres of human life, the widespread introduction of "green" technologies is inevitable, this is obvious. This year we have singled out this direction in a separate category. “Territory: city” is an attempt to integrate “green” technologies into the space of art, to declare them in the language of public art, to bring them into public space,”commented Tamila Kondaurova, head of special projects at Mospriroda, on the goals and objectives of the competition.
Below are the works of the winners, which can also be seen at the exhibition in the CDA until November 25.
Territory: city
"Sounds of the city"
Author: Anna Guseva
The sculpture, which is proposed to be placed on the Krymskaya embankment, makes the surrounding sounds "visible" - the hum of cars and ships, people's voices, street music - thanks to the graphic image of a sound wave that reacts with a change in color and height to various city noises.
*** Territory: water
"Gallant pier"
Authors: Valeria Barysheva and Anton Podobulkin
In this nomination, environmental functional objects on water for the territory of the Tsaritsyno park were assessed. The project is supposed to recreate the atmosphere of the times of Catherine II - the gallant century. The upper Tsaritsyn pond is decorated with a modular pier and raft islands, which can be navigated on special catamarans.
*** Territory: forest
Forest Museum identity
Author: Andrey Levinsky
The winner has developed an identity and navigation project for the Forest Museum, which will open on the territory of Losiny Ostrov park next year. The proposed design emphasizes the features of the territory, which is a nature reserve with the main environmental zones of forests in central Russia.
