The use of sustainable development principles in projects is one of the evaluation criteria.

Underground bath in the demilitarized zone

This peculiar border between the two countries is 4 km wide and 241 km long. The Demilitarized Zone is a popular tourist destination. Through their projects, the participants should answer the question whether new forms of non-military architecture are appropriate in this border area, and whether architecture can ease the tension existing here.

Energy efficient skyscraper

Refugee camp market

Wheelwright Prize 2017 - Young Architects Award

But for the fifth year in a row, the organizers have been inviting young professionals from all over the world who graduated from universities no more than 15 years ago to participate. The participant must be offered a program of practical architectural research to be undertaken outside his country of residence. The winner will receive a grant of $ 100,000 to implement their research project. Applicants for the award must also submit to the jury their resume, portfolio and detailed itinerary of the proposed trip.
