In the center of the capital on Novy Arbat, the reconstruction of a 26-storey building with a facade resembling an open book, which was built in the late 1960s, continues. The unusual building will be converted into an apart-hotel for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while the exterior of the architectural structure will be preserved. The "book house" will modernize the central air conditioning and water supply systems and replace the elevators. The developer of the project, the Capital Group company, uses only modern technologies and materials in its work. Thus, the building facades are being modernized using the well-proven technology of the hinged facade system with an air gap.
For thermal insulation of the ventilated facade, non-combustible VENTI BATTS D slabs are used, created using double density technology. Their peculiarity is the combined structure, thanks to which the installation process is facilitated and the load on building structures is reduced. These boards are used for making insulation in one layer. Unlike a two-layer solution, there is no need to fix the bottom layer of the slabs, thereby reducing the amount of fixing and the cost of the system. In addition, the material can be installed without additional windscreen.
"House-book" is located in the middle of Novy Arbat, which is a convenient location for a hotel with 400-450 rooms. According to the plans, the hotel will belong to the middle price category of the "3 stars" level. Around the future hotel there are many tourist sites, as well as business, administrative and government facilities. This can make the new hotel in demand among the guests of the capital.
