The program for the development of public spaces has reached all corners of Tatarstan, thereby responding to the specific needs and problems of residents of small towns and villages, as well as creating conditions for domestic tourism. The fact that land art, barrier-free environment and wi-fi access points are possible not only in cities, but also in villages - in the third part of our guide to the parks of Tatarstan.

You can read more about the Program and urban spaces in the first part, the second tells about the beaches and embankments.

Embankment "Solnechny Ik", Muslyumovo village

The floodplain of the Ik River is a picturesque place with a varied landscape, flora and fauna, a chain of oxbow lakes. Residents of Muslyumovo fish here, graze cattle, archaeologists find the remains of ancient animals and household items. One may doubt whether such a place needs to be improved, but the result removes all questions.

First of all, the natural balance of the river was restored: the oxbow was cleared of debris, silt and alluvial soil, now the river is fed from an underground spring. The overgrown slopes were put in order, the slope was strengthened with plants.

Then, trying not to disturb the landscape, they formed an embankment: pedestrian and bicycle paths about 1.5 km long, on which functional zones are strung. Taking into account the wishes of the Muslyumites, the architects planned a solar park - for recreation by the water, an amphitheater with a large clearing - for noisy celebrations, a large children's "archaeological" playground - with a huge woolly rhinoceros that once lived here. The lanterns for the new park were made by local craftsmen.

After the improvement, Solnechny Ik hosted two major festivals: for fishermen, as well as Land Art, which gathered almost as many guests as people live in the village.

The embankment is planned to be extended to 3.5 km, the potential territory for the development of the park is about 60 hectares.

Tabarka river embankment, Apastovo village

The look of the park by the Tabarka River is inspired by the birds that live here. Some analogies are obvious: for example, an observation deck in the form of a heron, from which you can observe the island where seagulls nest. Others are more complex: with a characteristic bend, the canopy for a swing resembles a gull wing, the ornament repeats the structure of the plumage. The organization of the environment is consistent with the bends of the body of gulls and the flight trajectory.

The park was created for admiring nature and outdoor recreation. There is a picnic area: overlooking the river, awnings, tables and barbecues. You can fish or swim. For skiers and skiers, a track was built with lighting and a pavilion made of mirror plates, which dissolves into the surroundings. In order to preserve and increase biodiversity, new plant species have been planted.

Tyulyachka river embankment, Tyulyachi village

Previously, during the flood, the residents of Tyulyachi had to make a big detour to get to the other part of the village, since it was impossible to cross the river. This problem was solved by laying a walking route with a decking above the floodplain level of the river. The old emergency bridge was replaced with two new ones, the banks were reinforced with rock fill and wetland plants. The floodplain was cleaned, and in those places where the river turned into a ravine, dams were made of stones to raise the water level and saturate it with oxygen.

The decking board path does not have large differences in height, it was made barrier-free and comfortable for the elderly. Along the walking route there are slopes to the water and several recreation areas for adults and children, referring to traditional crafts: stone and blacksmithing, beekeeping, forestry and cooperage. Also, the architects used the motives of folk art and local ornament.

"Holy Key", Bilyarsk

The source "Holy Key" is a place of pilgrimage for people of different confessions. It is located not far from the excavations of the ancient city of the Volga Bulgaria - Bilyar. The architects retained the existing infrastructure, but made it more convenient and friendly to the natural landscape. For example, asphalt paths and brick gazebos were replaced with wooden ones; instead of homemade booths, a pavilion for ablutions and a convenient reservoir for collecting spring water appeared at the source. The unusual shape of the gazebos and the milled panels with runes refer to the ancient pre-Islamic culture.

The second stage of transformations will concern the Selskoye Lake, located two kilometers from the source. Now you can't even swim in it, because there are no descents to the water. The architects plan to turn it into a tourist center, from which a visit to ancient Bilyar begins: with an information center, a camping, a cafe, a parking lot, a boat station and a beach. The lake will be connected with the source by a path that will pass through the temple and the Bulgarian military fortifications.

Nurminka River Embankment, Kukmor

In Kukmor, the embankment, the pedestrian bridge and the central park were reconstructed, after which the inhabitants of the village wanted to assign it the status of a city.

The bridge across the fast Nurminka was painted in bright colors - this is how the Kukmorians paint their houses. The lower tier of the embankment has appeared, thanks to which residents can finally go down to the river. It is connected to the upper one by a cascade of stairs and ramps. A wooden bench stretches along the entire length of the embankment, separate benches are decorated with the famous Kukomr felt boots - you can walk to the felting-felt mill in ten minutes. Also in Kukmor they make lemonade and sew ski suits - the relief here is quite pronounced.

Black river embankment, Aznakaevo

The bank of the Chernaya River before the improvement looked depressing: a deformed muddy channel, open engineering communications, no paths and no lighting.

Now the embankment has turned into a beautiful, safe and thoughtful place to relax. Seven bridges were thrown across the river, playgrounds were added - there were none in the courtyards of nearby houses, and the architects, together with dendrologists, changed the relief of the area: thanks to this, hills in the form of acorns for children's games appeared and a natural amphitheater with wooden flooring appeared.

Many plants were planted along the entire river: large trees, shrubs and flower beds.
