ArchYouth-2020 is the third season of the architectural projects competition, which is held among students and graduates of universities and colleges with a degree in Architecture.
The main goal of the competition is to increase the level of students' knowledge in the field of glazing of residential and public buildings and the creation of architectural projects using energy-efficient glazing.
Competitors are invited to develop architectural projects using glass, double-glazed windows and profile systems of the competition partners (Pilkington, STiS, Sсhueco, Deceuninck) in three nominations:
- low-rise residential building, - multi-storey residential building, - a public building.
The competition is open to current or completed course and diploma projects. Geography of construction - any city of the Russian Federation. The participant's task is to select glass, a profile system for facades and windows and calculate the formula for double-glazed windows for windows and facades, based on the climatic characteristics of the location of the object.
ArchYouth-2020 provides two forms of participation.
- Full-time participation involves attending seminars and lectures with experts in building glazing, meetings with working architects, excursions to production provided for in the competition, as well as final defense in front of a competent jury of working architects
- The correspondence form of participation is available if the participant cannot participate in all activities of the educational program. The winners are determined by online voting.
ArchYouth-2020 participants are waiting for:
- Lectures, seminars with the participation of invited experts, designed to supplement students' knowledge of the possibilities of using glass in architecture
- Meetings with working architects, representatives of architectural workshops in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar on the topic of the profession of an architect
- Excursions to the production of glass, double-glazed windows, profile systems
- Consolidation of the knowledge gained during the preparation and defense of competitive works in front of a specially invited commission from among working architects (the final of the project imitates the real defense of the project in front of the customer)
During the competition, participants will be able to establish close ties in a professional environment, as well as demonstrate their knowledge to potential employers - heads of architectural workshops.
Since 2018, more than 200 architectural students have taken part in the competition, many of whom have become students of leading Moscow and foreign universities. Winning the competition gave significant weight to their resume and influenced the results of the entrance exams.
The finalists and winners of the competition will not only replenish their portfolios with new projects, but will also receive valuable prizes and gifts from the organizers and partners of the competition. The jury will include invited experts - representatives of architectural firms and leading architecture publications.
