The new Shenzhen World Exhibition Center is located in the free economic zone - the metropolis of Shenzhen, in Guangdong province, on the banks of the Pearl River, north of the international airport.
In 2019, on an area of 136 hectares, the construction of 19 exhibition pavilions was completed, including 16 pavilions with an area of 20,000 m2, 1 pavilion with an area of 50,000 m2, 1 hall for events with 13,000 seats and 1 pavilion - a modular space for 11,000 seats intended for holding conferences.
The width of the exhibition center reaches 500 m. The pavilions are located on both sides of a 2 km long pedestrian street. The street is designed on two levels and is protected from adverse weather conditions by a giant canopy. On the upper level, the width of the street is 27 m, and the height to the roof is 8 m. Travelators are installed here, which make it easier for visitors to get from the two lobbies located in the middle of the exhibition complex.
Visitors enter the pavilions through a kind of mezzanine floor, from where they have the opportunity to see the entire exhibition space as a whole. At the lower level, the exhibition stands are located in a space of 100x200 m, free of any supporting elements.
The ceiling height of 16 m allows you to plan and implement any idea for organizing the exhibition space. Each pavilion provides catering points, bathrooms and meeting rooms. The level of technical equipment of the center meets the highest international standards.
All pavilions are connected by covered walkways, as well as by the lower level of the pedestrian street, where catering points and external exhibition spaces are located, allowing two, four, six or eight pavilions to be combined for one exhibition. Such an organization provides both greater flexibility in the use of spaces and the ability to host an exhibition of any scale - from 20 to 400 thousand m2.
On the roof of some of the volumes - landscaped terraces with trees overlooking the park - this is a place where visitors can relax and have a snack.
Around the pavilions there are extensive logistic zones that allow for the most efficient installation of exhibitions without interfering with the flow of visitors.
On the northern side of the project, in the continuation of the pedestrian street, in the future, it is planned to build four more pavilions with an area of 20,000 m2 each.
The project has received LEED, BREAM and 2 * certification according to the national regulations of China.
The dimensions and technical equipment of the exhibition center in Shenzhen meet the growing needs of the largest special economic zone of the PRC, and the center itself can be considered the largest exhibition complex in the world.
