The meeting began with a repeated discussion of the expansion project of the Krestovsky shopping center opposite the exit from the Rizhskaya metro station (Oleks-Holding-M LLC, architect AS Nesterov). In all likelihood, it will very soon absorb the spontaneous market existing here, and the latter will be transferred to a new building with a total area of 46,000 square meters. m, where 2,000 sq. m will be honestly given to the city. The new 4-storey shopping complex will have a package for 850 seats, intended for visitors during the day and for residents of neighboring houses at night. At the OERG meeting on January 29, the Riga project was canceled, in particular, due to a flaw in the transport scheme. This problem remained open again last Tuesday, as the author of the project admitted that the calculations of transport capacity and landscape-visual analysis have not yet been completed. In turn, the experts again reminded about the need to take into account the peculiarities of the Riga region as a whole, where significant changes in the railways are being undertaken soon. It is planned that the Rizhsky railway station will be moved to the Leningradsky station, in the old place only a suburban platform will remain from it, and the building will be converted into a museum.

But the main thing that the experts noted is that there is still no idea about the master plan of this triangular section. What will happen there in the end with the notorious trading stalls, with landscaping, paving and five traffic intersections is again incomprehensible. There are fears that the entire unrepresentative "Shanghai" of market trade may eventually persist, in any case, the drawing does not show whether there will be stalls there or not. The architectural image of the building of the new department store itself also seemed indefinite. As Viktor Sheredega said, so far this is the architecture of the right-of-way, not the central square, and the architectural image must be extended and pulled out of provincialism and the market-and-factory look into something else. But in general, the idea of construction was approved, having decided that in such a busy transport hub as the Rizhsky railway station, such a shopping complex is necessary. However, Viktor Sheredega pointed out that the layout should be finalized, the issues of integrated development and the general plan of the triangular section should be resolved, which so far looks rather abstract.

The second question was devoted to the reconstruction of two residential buildings in the possessions of 6 and 7 on the 2nd Neopalimovsky lane of the Khamovniki district (LLC Academic workshop RAASN-Bode, architect B. V. Bode) This construction does not have one owner and the investor, the customer is the Association of Homeowners "Neopalimovsky." Property 6 borders on the territory of an architectural monument, a one-story mansion located at the corner of Neopalimovsky Lane and Burdenko Street. which was built in 1914, and another, similar one, was stuck to it in 1926. The houses now look bad, the technical condition is unsatisfactory, the wear is about 70%.to build in their place a new building of similar dimensions, structurally integral, but visually divided into two neighboring houses with slightly different facades - probably in order for the new building to remember that there were two of them before. The author of the project, academician of architecture Boris Bode, presented to the experts several options for the facades of the new house, all executed in a romantic watercolor style and stylized in eclecticism, modernity and Stalinist architecture, taken together and mixed in different proportions. In general, everything looks quite charming, of course, provided that during construction it will be possible to maintain a good quality of parts. In any case, the new house so far turns out to be much more magnificent than its predecessors, in some ways even more refined.

The experts approved the project proposal as a whole as preliminary, but stressed that the most important issue has not yet been resolved - namely, the demolition commission has not yet issued permission to dismantle the existing houses. In addition, the boundaries of the historical monument remained unclear, which have to be clarified.

Reconsidering the last on the agenda of the project proposal in the possession of 9/11 Bol. Nikolovorobinsky per. (LLC "New Project", architects VF Paltsev, MA Petrova) again talked about the reconstruction of old buildings. Last time, experts recognized the solutions of the complex in relation to the immediate historical surroundings as unsatisfactory, given that the territory under construction has the status of a nature reserve. Already at the beginning of the discussion, the members of the expert group again returned to the question of the unrestricted construction that took place here, which the customer and investors still have to deal with. This time, the authors presented new options for the architectural and planning solution of the complex of buildings, based on the idea of using the natural and architectural landscape of a historical place. Taking into account the recommendations of experts to lower the building along with the slope of the lane itself, the architects reduced the number of storeys to seven floors instead of the former nine. True, consent to redevelopment of the already completed object of the customer has yet to be obtained. As a result, the experts liked the architecture in the new version, and the experts demanded that the question of unauthorized construction be resolved and submitted for consideration to the chief architect of Moscow A. V. Kuzmin.
