Today it is difficult to pull out children who are literally stuck to smartphones and computers and experience a deficit of physical activity. It is even more difficult to offer a replacement for the virtual world. Today's children do not want to play, as their parents once did, in "rubber bands" or "Cossack robbers". Give them something fashionable, bright, interactive so that they can press buttons and sensors. But it is important for parents that the children do not sit, buried in their mobile phones and laptops, but move as much as possible.
New kids street game complex UP-GYM from developers KBEA, a prototype of which is installed in the children's park named after cosmonaut A. G. Nikolaev, was able to solve this problem and interest Cheboksary children and their parents.
“Imagine that children's dreams of computer games and adults' care for the all-round development of children come together in an ultra-modern outdoor play complex. The engineers, developers of electronic equipment from Cheboksary, had the idea of creating the UP-GYM complex. The goal of our project is to improve the level of development of the urban environment, to offer a new type of street leisure, to combine sports and computer games,”says Alexander Prikazshchikov, General Director of the Electrical Equipment Design Bureau.
The play complex consists of a playground with play posts and an interactive wall. Five columns of the platform are 1.16 m high, equipped with sensor elements and a computer. Here you can solve examples at speed (choose the correct answer or suggest it yourself by touching the sensor of the column a certain number of times), paint the columns in different colors, compete in extinguishing the light on the columns, or vice versa - turning it on.

The game wall also gives you a choice of five games: a flashlight - to extinguish by touching all light indicators for speed, a sunbeam - to extinguish the illuminated indicators, a pin code - to repeat the combination of the location of the light indicators, "color colors" - to extinguish only one color from the illuminated indicators, a snake - extinguish sequentially from the end indicators of a moving snake. Here you can play both alone and together.
The interface is very clear, children understand at a time. Voice commands that accompany the game process also help. The energetic rhythm sets the musical accompaniment of the games. Here you can keep statistics, change settings, download new games. It should be noted that this is not the final version of the complex: the number of posts and their location, wall size, installation options may vary.
The complex is designed for children from 6 years old and people with limited mobility. But this is not the limit: on the interactive platforms, very kids can play and adults can compete. The complex is "not afraid" of the players' activity: all structures are vandal-resistant. The installation can withstand the temperature range from -25 to +40 degrees Celsius, i.e. he “feels” well both indoors and outdoors.
The potential of the equipment is quite wide, it is not limited to entertainment and can be used not only in urban environments - in parks and courtyards. Depending on the purpose, the look and "smart" filling of the playground can be easily adapted to the needs of educational, sports, medical rehabilitation and correctional institutions.
As emphasized by the doctor of pedagogical sciences, trainer of the international category, professor, head of the department of theoretical foundations of physical education of the Faculty of Physical Culture, ChSPU named after AND I. Yakovleva Andrey Pyanzin, in addition to improving physical skills, the use of interactive game complexes contributes to the formation of psychomotor skills. Children successfully master specialized senses such as a sense of tempo and rhythm, the skills of coordination and accuracy of movements. The participants in the game realize the principle of continuity and complication of psychomotor exercises due to the multidimensionality and self-control of their movements, the intensity of activity and the arbitrariness of self-regulation.
The options for interactive equipment can be very diverse. With the help of a team of developers and designers, you can create play elements and complex sites for an individual order. Even choose a color scheme for the corporate style of the customer. Ideas - for a whole interactive park, and not just one. KBEA's specialists also carry out the installation and configuration of the play complex on a turnkey basis, give a guarantee for its operation for five years and organize service maintenance of the equipment.
Most importantly, playing on interactive equipment helps the younger generation develop skills such as reaction speed, attentiveness, memory, spatial orientation and focus on results, and also forms socialization skills in team play.
“I like that on the interactive wall you can select games not only by interest, but also by the degree of difficulty. First, my son and I played the simplest version, and then we chose a more difficult level. We not only had fun, but physically warmed up, it even got hot: try, catch, for example, a sunny bunny that just strives to slip away! - says Olga, a visitor to the park.
Indeed, the UP-GYM game complex is not only useful for children, but due to its modern design, it organically fits into the urban environment and allows you to increase the active time of visiting objects at night. In less than four months of operation, including winter time, the UP-GYM interactive platform in Cheboksary set the first records: it attracted the attention of more than 15 thousand adults and children.
