The $ 600 million Beirut Gateway project will be implemented on the site between the city embankment and Martyrs Square. The area was crossed by the border of territories controlled by the warring factions during the Civil War, and, as a result, it was almost completely razed to the ground. Now it is being built by the Solidere Corporation. In the case of Gateway of Beirut, developers from Saudi Arabia have joined them.
The development project was created by the French architect Christian de Portzamparc and the Arcitectonics workshop (USA) together with Lebanese partners. Eight buildings will be erected in accordance with the final version recently presented by the planners to the customers. Among them - a high-rise under the project "Arcitectonics" and a series of buildings of the middle height of Portzampark. All structures on the territory of the new quarter will be both office and residential buildings, with the addition of shops and cafes. In total, more than 2 hectares of land will be used in the center of Beirut, surrounded by historical buildings.
