On September 19, online voting for the Best Building Awards / House of the Year will open. In July, the expert council has already announced a shortlist of 12 nominees. The online community at https://madeinfuture.net/ is now invited to make its choice among these projects.
In the meantime, the deadline for submitting works to the annual competition "Polygon for Creativity" is approaching: until September 30, designers, artists, architects and animators using computer graphics in their work can submit their projects to participate in the corresponding nominations.
On September 20, the Russian Academy of Architecture will host a scientific conference "Thaw Aesthetics: New in Architecture, Art, Culture". The focus is on the architecture, residential, urban and cultural environment of Soviet modernism in the 1960s and 70s.
And at Strelka they will discuss issues of urban planning: on September 17-18, the British design studio Ab Rogers Design will talk about how design objects can change public spaces and human behavior in them. And on September 19, the institute will host an open lecture “Smart City: theories and practices of creating a smart city“from top to bottom and from bottom to top”, dedicated to the concept of“smart cities”in the context of globalization and depletion of natural resources.
On September 20, a press conference and a discussion on the projects of the 4 finalists of the competition for the reconstruction of the building will be held at the Polytechnic Museum, in which the director of the museum B. G. Saltykov, Director of the Museum Development Fund Yu. V. Shakhnovskaya and architectural critic G. I. Revzin.
And finally, in Novosibirsk, within the framework of the international youth innovation forum Interra'11 and the project "City as a laboratory", a workshop "Renovation of the territory of MHK Vostochny" will take place, where young architects will apply the Dutch experience to the development of one of the new residential complexes in their city.
