More than 70 new buildings built in Russia in 2010 were initially nominated for the award. Then the Public Council formed a long list of 40 projects, and the next stage of voting was carried out among the members of the Expert Council, who identified 15 main applicants for the award. At the final stage, anyone could participate in the selection of the House of the Year - one of 15 objects could be voted for on the award website, which resulted in the winner of one of the two main nominations of the award - House of the Year: People's Choice.

As it turned out on October 15, the most popular among fans of Russian new buildings was

Novatek office building on Leninsky Prospekt, designed by SPEECH Choban / Kuznetsov bureau. Coordinator of the Public Council of the Prize Elena Kosorenkova, presenting the diploma to the authors, named Sergei Tchoban and Sergei Kuznetsov representatives of the "galaxy of stars of Russian architecture."

The winner of the second main nomination - "House of the Year: The Choice of Professionals" - was selected by the Expert Council. The chairman of the council, architect Vladimir Plotkin, took the stage to name the best building of the year in the opinion of professionals. The prize was awarded to the reconstructed Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant "Vysota 239" (the team of authors led by Sergei Ilyshev and Vladimir Yudanov) - indeed one of the brightest realizations of the last year, which, in particular, took part in the competition "Golden Section" and then was undeservedly ignored members of the jury. Vladimir Plotkin called this building a "breakthrough project in industrial architecture", and curator Vika Abel admitted to the audience that ChTPZ won by just one vote, which indicates a serious struggle unfolding at the finish line in the "Choice of Professionals" nomination.

Another innovation of the award this year was the establishment of special nominations "Best of Low Building / Best Low-Rise Project", "Made in Wood / Best Wooden House" and "Best Housing Development / Best Countryside Village". The winner of the "Best Low-Rise Project" nomination was chosen from as many as 30 candidates, and became

a private house built in the Gorki-6 village near Moscow according to the project of the Atrium architectural bureau.

20 objects from all over Russia were presented for the prize for the best wooden house. The winner was the villa in Vasilyevo (architects Sergei Tchoban, Frederic-Sebastian Scholz, Pavel Zemskov). The jury of the award noted the minimalism of the object - the building consists of several cubes made of wood and glass, which are asymmetrically connected to each other, forming a volume of 500 square meters.

The prize for the best settlement was won by the multifunctional suburban project EcoDolye Orenburg, which was nominated for the competition among seven other nominees.

Within the framework of the award ceremony, partnership prizes were also awarded from the Information Agency of the Architectural Agency and the National Agency for Low-Rise and Cottage Construction NAMIKS. The "Architect" awarded the office building in Butikovsky lane, 9, designed by the "Ostozhenka" bureau - for the visual lightness of the complex and its organic fit into the urban environment.

NAMIKS, in turn, awarded the prize to the cottage community "Western Valley" in the Moscow region. Its authors - representatives of the architectural bureau AREP admitted that at the construction stage no one believed in the economic success of this project, but as a result, it fully justified itself, demonstrating the three main priorities of low-rise housing construction - environmental friendliness, efficiency and energy intensity. Such architects as Totan Kuzembaev, Alexander Leonov and Yuliy Borisov were involved in the design of individual houses in the “Western Valley”.

The traditional prize of the strategic partner of the Duvils Group project "Made in Future" for the use of innovative technologies went to the project of Eric Van Egeraat, a chess club in Khanty-Mansiysk. The foreign architect admitted that this is one of his smallest projects, and expressed the hope that someday his larger complexes will receive official recognition in Russia.
