Skyscrapers will appear in the new business district of Yongsangu (master plan by Daniel Libeskind), on its border with the existing development, and will play the role of its "gate". Two prismatic volumes of the towers are connected by two horizontal "bridges"; in general, the complex looks like a huge "hash sign" #.
Other prominent bureaus, including MVRDV, were also invited to design the building for Yongsang: their project, already familiar to our readers, has raised questions due to its distant similarity to the photo of the New York Twin Towers attacked on September 11, 2001. Both BIG and MVRDV structures are towers connected by "bridges"; whether this is a coincidence or a condition of the customers, the architects do not say.
Cross # Towers reached heights of 214 m (52 floors) and 204 m (48 floors), respectively. They will house 627 apartments, as well as a library, an art gallery and a kindergarten. The towers will be connected on three levels: two bridges at a height of 70 m and 140 m (there are planned apartments and "hanging gardens"), a common lobby on the 1st floor and a courtyard sunken into the ground with shops and cafes.
The landscaping of the complex is the responsibility of the American landscape architect Martha Schwarz.
